grizzly and me

Here I am touching a dead grizzly bear.
It stands in a room full of maybe seventy
other dead animals, stuffed.
It stands ten feet tall.

but maybe too close to humankind...

it was strange touching this bear. i didn't want to. didn't feel entitled to. but it is the largest animal i have ever seen, and i wanted to honor it.
